Isabella Rossellini (American Vogue 1985) -V- Balmain
Shoulder pads were a rage in the ‘80s. Interestingly, high end labels like Balmain which include strong padded shoulders in almost all their outfits have influenced this trend to make a comeback.
The modern version of this style that you should adopt is to ditch the flared bottoms and go for a satin-ish padded top, neatly tucked inside high rise skinny denims. For a more formal look, go for a padded jacket over your shirt. Complete these looks with a pair of heels and you will kill it!
Golden Lame Clothing
Cosmopolitan 1977 -v- Queen of Style: Kate Moss
Shiny skirts, poofy dresses and gold lamé jackets for common in the 1980s. The comeback of this trend is a sober version. Today, there are shorts, camis, culottes to be paired with neutral staples. Try to balance the gold with a neutral or solid colour of your bottoms and go easy on the jewellery.
Banarama 1980s -V- Sarah Jessica Parker
Cuffed jeans were flaunted by the cool kids in the ‘80s. These denims were also rolled up tightly towards the end, a style known as pegging. The trick is not to make it too tight or loose. You can wear it with a simple shirt, a graphic, a blazer or a fitted corset over the top. Put on heels or sneakers to create the perfect outfit. Get it right with little practise and you will be the coolest one around.

‘80s were all about being extra. And why not? It looked fabulous. You could see the sparkle and the glitz shining bright for a decade. Designers like Rodarte, Balmain, Jill Stuart have ensured that this trend makes a comeback.
If you are going to flaunt this soon, go basic while pairing it with the other pieces of clothing and accessories, to avoid looking over the top.
