Summer is upon us… slightly. There’s no denying that we’re all in full belief that this is a sign of the summer we’re going to have!

Now is the time to get your home ready for the summer. There’s a few little changes you can make that should mean your house is bright, light, and full of fun. If you’re coming up to your yearly home switch up, then have a read on to find out more.

Light & Bright

If the weather is going to stay this nice for a while, then there’s nothing worse than being stuck in a home that feels a bit dark and cluttered. A home should be free of clutter for sure, but it should be nice and airy if you want to create that cool summer feeling. One thing we’re going to recommend is keeping your decor a light colour, preferably white with a feature wall in each room. It really does just help to brighten up the whole place, and the white will naturally bring in the cool air that your home might have been missing. To keep it airy, make sure you’re not cluttering your home with anything that doesn’t really need to be there. Do some research, and find some cunning storage techniques that you can use within the home that will make it airy and bright, as well as less cluttered.

Fix It Up

There’s not time like the present to fix some of the things that might be going wrong within your home. If you’ve got things falling apart left right and center, then you first need to get some tools and equipment to help you whip your shack back into shape. Screws and fixings, along with screwdrivers, and any power tools you might need are essential. Work your way around the house, and pick out all of those niggling issues that have been bothering you. From the squeaky door that you can’t seem to get rid of, to the light fixing that has been hanging off for months.

The Garden Party Special

If this weather is here to stay, then you need to focus on getting your garden ready for a few summer parties. All you need to do is make sure the grass is properly maintained, there’s some fresh and bright flowers to make the place look alive, and that you’ve got a nice little area that everyone can have a good time in! Garden furniture is essential, and if you’re going to have people with children round, you might benefit from getting a little paddling pool to keep them entertained.

So, how long is it going to take you to get your home summer ready. Work round the home, completing task by task, and spend your evenings drinking a cold beer in the sun!
